Hour Kidz is proud to present our Early Learning Program for 3 and 4 year old children. Staffed by qualified university trained staff, the Early Learning Program operates Monday/Wednesday/Friday (3 day/week classes) or Tuesday/Thursday (2 day/week classes) from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Various themes provide opportunities to develop social, cognitive, language, math, fine and gross motor skills in a relaxed and caring environment.

During the summer, we follow week-long themed units. Year-round, themes build upon each other as skills are developed. Physical activity is also a key component of our program. Children get active with both indoor and outdoor activities and games.

Please note that if you wish for your child to participate in the program, please make sure the center is utilized at the scheduled class times.

Preschool rates are billed monthly, not by hourly rates.

The Hour Kidz Preschool program is designed with a variety of experiences for your Preschool child. The classroom follows a lesson plan and has a theme each week.  We will work with your child on letter recognition and pre-writing skills as well as give them opportunities to learn through play.  During circle time each morning we will discuss things such as the day of the week, update our classroom calendar, pick daily helpers, and sing songs.  This is a very rewarding early learning experience for your preschooler.

Along with the academics of the program, this is also a great time for them to interact with their peers in an organized, structured atmosphere where their individual personalities will be welcomed and respected.  We spend a significant amount of time teaching life skills such as manners, respecting others, sharing, and much more.

Fridays are Show and Tell day in the 3 year old preschool class.  Please send in something with your child that day that they can talk about during this time and place it in the blue crate marked “Show and Tell”. This is a fantastic way for your child to learn how to feel comfortable speaking in front of a group, as well as teach them how to explore subjects through the art of asking related questions.

We will be going outside daily as long as the weather permits. Please make sure your preschooler has seasonally appropriate clothing, and don’t send them in their Sunday best.  They will get messyJ

We will send home a newsletter each month and a calendar explaining the themes and projects. Use this calendar as a conversation starter with your child after their busy day at school.  Watch their eyes light up when they get to share all that they’ve learned, and continue on this pattern for years to come. When your child gets used to sharing their day with you then it becomes a wonderful habit.

We follow Michigan’s Education Standards for Early Childhood!!!

The Program:  The program is structured with a variety of experiences for your preschool child.  The children participate in such activities as listening to stories, finger plays, puppets, painting, water play, scissoring, play dough, and large and small motor play.  The children are exposed to the alphabet, numbers, shapes and colors. Preparing them for kindergarten is our top priority.

Goals and Objectives:  For the children to gain independence and self-confidence in an atmosphere that allows each child to grow and expand his/her world through a variety of hands-on experiences.  To provide enjoyment and create enthusiasm and excitement for learning, while building and maintaining positive self-esteem, responsibility, and confidence in each child.
